Ampi at CannesAMPI presented Real estate Developments in Cannes March 14 to 17 2006.

MIPIM is a market for international property trade. It takes place annually in Cannes, France in March. MIPIM is the world's leading real estate event. It brings together key industry decision-makers from around the world, allowing them to establish long-lasting relations, to present new projects, and to lay the foundations for fruitful collaboration.

With the objective to present various tourist real estate developments to foreign investors, a Mexican delegation composed of representatives of the Association of Professional Real Estate (AMPI, Cancun section), with a successful participation in the International real estate Market (MIPIM), that took place in Cannes France this past March 14 to 17, 2006.

The presence of the Mexican delegation was made possible thanks to the backing of the Caribbean Business Coordinator Council (CCE, Consejo Coordinador Empresarial del Caribe) and of it’s president Javier Olvera Iglesias who made possible the presence of AMPI in the MIPIM and who made all the necessary arrangements for this to take place.

ampi-canners.jpg This being the most important event of its kind in the world, gathered investors, exposition companies, real estate developers, real estate advisers, banks, architects, designers, lawyers and legal authorities in total 21 thousand visitors had the opportunity to visit the eighteen hundred (1,800) stands represented by 75 countries. With 21,415 participants, MIPIM, The world’s property market, is up 21% over last year, beating all attendance records since the event was launched in 1990.

“MIPIM’s success reflects the importance that professionals in the sector give to this annual international meeting,” said Nadine Castagna, Director of MIPIM. “Although we live in a time when information sharing has never been easier, real estate people need to meet each other in person to develop business and make new contacts.”

In this spectacular event, where the emphasis was the mega constructions from Russia, Dubai, Germany and France the CCE had the opportunity to show that the Mexican Caribbean had plenty of options to offer as tourist destinations, that this is possible when there is political will and conscience of interests to position Cancun in the world of international real estate.

During this great exposition the Mexican delegation composed of Guadalupe Duran, Francisco de la Torre, Myrna Huerta representatives of AMPI promoted important real estate developments such as Playa Mujeres (Ricardo Ampudia and Fernando Shutte Alguero in charge), and Puerto Cancun (Sra Audrey Migeliori in charge) among many others.

With the assistance to this event they are trying to break away from the dependence on the current investors, maintaining a vision with an open mind to visualize sales opportunities thus opening new markets with potential buyers. This was a very big step for the Mexican real estate professionals making their mark in the world stage.
